Welcome and Blessings in 2025

Happy New Year! I wish each one of you a multitude of blessings in the coming months.

I offer you two spiritual practices, or intentions if you prefer, to help you stay present to the gifts and the lessons that often arrive together.

Bless this House and All Who Enter

Setting an intention to bless your house and everyone in it is a wonderful way to begin the year. You may create your own ritual to bless your house or use this blessing, which is typically done on January 6, Epiphany in the Christian calendar. Using a piece of chalk, write the following above or near your front door “20+C+M+B+25.” The 20 and 25 represent the year. The letters stand for the wisemen, Caspar, Melchior, and Balthazar, or the Latin phrase Christus Mansionem Bendicat, meaning Christ Bless this House. The important part of the ritual is to gather your family together, set an intention, and create a mark that is a reminder of good will for all who enter your home.

The Welcoming Prayer

After you release your intention of peace and abundance into the world, it can be helpful to prepare your inner self to remain open, accepting, and present to all that comes to you. We often avoid the life lessons that precede something good coming into our lives, but it is important to go through the situation, rather than skirting around it.

Welcome, welcome, welcome.
I welcome everything I experience because it’s for my learning and healing.
I welcome all thoughts, feelings, emotions, persons, situations, and conditions.
I let go of my desire for power and control.
I let go of my desire for affection, esteem, approval, and pleasure.
I let go of my desire for survival and security.
I let go of my desire to change any situation, condition, person or myself.
I open to the love and presence of Divine Source around and within.

I’ve slightly adapted this prayer by Father Thomas Keating to reflect the Divinity that lies within each of us, waiting to be brought out into the world, if only we can release the fears and emotional needs that keep us locked into repeating patterns that keep us “safe” instead of experiencing our Divine nature. This is a daily practice that rewires our need to control.

Feel loved. Be love.

So It Flows is a safe space to open and process your emotions and experiences. Gentle observations shine a light onto your beautiful, unique self. Whether you choose Spiritual Direction, Akashic Records, or Shamanism, your journey always leads to your beautiful, true Self.
